Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Nostra ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Nostra Android application ("Nostra" or the "App"). Nostra is a web browser with tools that can detect and download certain video files. You must have permission from the content owner, or another lawful right, before downloading any content.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Nostra Android App and this website. It does not govern third-party websites that you visit through Nostra. Those websites have their own privacy practices and may collect information directly from you.

This website does not intentionally use advertising, analytics, user accounts, contact forms, or non-essential cookies. Our hosting provider may process ordinary request information, such as IP addresses and security logs, to deliver and protect the website.

2. Information handled by Nostra

Information stored locally on your device

Nostra locally stores open tabs and session URLs; bookmarks; browser preferences; onboarding status; download names, types, progress, status, timestamps, and local file references; and whether Google Play reports that an ad-free pass is active.

This information is stored in the App's private storage or Android's local download records. We do not operate a Nostra account system or server that receives your browser history, bookmarks, detected media URLs, or downloaded files.

Browsing and website data

Nostra uses Android WebView to display websites. A website and its providers may receive information normally sent by a browser, including your IP address, user agent, requested URL, cookies, referrer information, and interactions. Nostra permits first-party and third-party cookies so websites and media playback can function. Each website's privacy policy governs its own practices.

Video detection and downloads

To identify downloadable media and estimate file information, Nostra processes page URLs, media URLs, request headers, cookies, file metadata, and playlist information on your device. When you start a download, Nostra sends the necessary requests to the source website or content-delivery network. These requests may include a user agent, referrer, range header, and source-site cookies.

Downloaded files are stored on your device, generally in Downloads/Nostra or another Android-managed download location. Nostra does not upload your downloaded files to us.

Advertising data

The free plan uses Google Mobile Ads to provide rewarded advertisements before a download starts. Google and its advertising partners may process IP address and approximate location; device, app, and advertising identifiers; ad views, clicks, reward events, and other interactions; diagnostics, performance, fraud-prevention, and security data; and consent choices where applicable.

Google Play purchases

If you purchase or restore a Month Pass or Year Pass, Google Play processes the transaction. Nostra receives limited information needed to provide the pass, including the product, purchase status, purchase token, acknowledgement status, and entitlement state. Nostra stores an active-pass indicator locally. We do not receive or store your full payment card or bank account details.

Information you send to us

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, device details, or diagnostics. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and improve Nostra.

Information is processed to provide browsing and download features; deliver rewarded ads and ad-free pass benefits; process and restore Google Play purchases; maintain security; diagnose technical problems; respond to support requests; comply with law; and enforce our Terms of Use.

5. How information is shared

We do not sell your browser history, bookmarks, detected media URLs, or downloaded files. Information may be processed by websites and content-delivery networks you contact, Google Mobile Ads, Google Play, Android system services, and service providers needed to deliver or secure Nostra. We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer subject to applicable law.

Some laws may define advertising disclosures as a "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising. Where required, we will provide applicable consent or opt-out controls.

6. Retention and deletion

Local App information remains until removed through an App control, Android settings, clearing App data, or uninstalling Nostra. Files in Downloads may remain after uninstall and must be deleted separately. WebView cookies and website storage remain until cleared through available controls. Third parties determine their own retention periods.

Nostra has no user accounts or cloud profile to delete. To request deletion of information you previously sent directly to us, email nostra.downloader@gmail.com. We may retain information where required by law or needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

7. Your choices and rights

You can remove bookmarks and download-history entries, delete downloaded files, clear App data, uninstall Nostra, manage notifications in Android, and manage advertising settings through supported Android or Google controls. Where required, Nostra will display consent or privacy options for Google Mobile Ads.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information we control, withdraw consent, or complain to a regulator. Contact us to exercise an applicable right.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical safeguards, including Android private storage for App settings and HTTPS-only network security configuration. No device, browser, transmission, or storage system is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device and evaluating the websites and files you access.

9. International processing

Google, third-party websites, hosting providers, and their service providers may process information in countries other than where you live, subject to their policies and applicable safeguards.

10. Children's privacy

Nostra is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where required by local law. If you believe a child has sent personal information directly to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Nostra, service providers, or legal requirements. We will publish the updated policy here and revise the last-updated date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
